Overman Committee

Officielt: Sub-Committee of the Senate Committee on Judiciary.
Patriotisk amerikansk senatsudvalg, 1918-1919, som undersøgte tyske og bolsjevikiske 'elementer' under første verdenskrig og i forbindelse med den kommunistiske revolution i Rusland.
Undersøgelsesudvalgets fem medlemmer beskæftigede sig bl.a. med tyske emigranter i USA, og de havde, ifølge udvalget, 'tilknytningsbegrundet skyld', fordi USA havde været i krig med Tyskland.
Den amerikanske antikrigsbevægelse og dennes kamp mod værnepligten under og efter verdenskrigen blev i kommiteen opfattet som en pro tysk støtte, der senere udviklede sig til en støtte til kommunismen i Sovjetunionen under interventions-krigen, 1918-1922. Rapportens vigtigste anbefalinger under den tidlige kommunistforskrækkelse er deportering af fremmede radikale, samt, vedtagelse af love mod 'tilskyndelse til oprør i fredstid'.
Pacifistiske og borgerrettighedsorganisationer nævnt i rapporten: kvækerorganisationen American Friends Service Committee, Den amerikanske liga til begrænsning af forsvars-materiel, American Liberty Defence League, American Neutral Conferences Committee, American Union against Militarism, Church Peace Union, Collegiate Anti-Militarism League, Emergency Peace Federation, Fellowship of Reconsiliation, Friends of Peace, Labor's National Peace Counsil, League of Conscentious Objectors, League of Democratic Control, Liberty Defence Union, Liberty Immigration Society, National Civil Liberties Bureau, Nonpartisan League, Organization of American Women for Strict Neutrality, Peoples´ Counsil of America for Peace and Democracy, Universal League of Peace. Blandt pacifister nævnt i rapporten kan nævnes Jane Addams, Emely Greene Balch, Roger Nash Baldwin, Emma Goldman og Oscar Garrison Villard.
