American Friends Service Committee

☮ Amerikansk freds- borgerrettigheds-, nødhjælps- og militærnægter­organisation oprettet i april 1917 af kvækere, efter inspiration fra dannelsen af en tilsvarende organisationen Friends Service Committee i England i 1916.
The American Friends Service Committee starter bespisning af tysklands underernærede børn i januar 1920, kaldet Quäkerspeisung. Nobels fredspris 1947. American Friends Service Committee er sammen med Clergy and Laity Concerned medstifter af the National Peace Convertion Campaign i 1973. Aktuelt er organisationen medlem af US Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons Coordinating Committee.

Overvåget af FBI fra begyndelsen af 1920'erne. FBI starter overvågningen pga. organisationens fødevarehjælp til det hungersramte Sovjetunionen i 1922. The American Friends Service Committee udsender tidsskrifterne Peacework og Toward Peace & Justice.
