Impact of Nuclear Weapons. Nuevo Vallarta, Nayarit, Mexico, 13-14 February
2014 organized by The Humanitarian Initiative which is a group of states
within the framework of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

Probe Rep. Petri's Pentagon Contractor Conflict ofInterest

Last week, Gannett/USA Today reported that Rep. Tom Petri [R-WI-6] owned hundreds of thousands of dollars in stock in a Pentagon contractor he has successfully gone to bat for in Congress. Oshkosh Corporation - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oshkosh_Corporation (editor) and with Pentagon officials. During the period of his successful advocacy on behalf of the company, the value of Petri's investment increased by as much as $200,000.
House ethics rules forbid using your office for personal gain.
Public Citizen has called the situation a "clear conflict of interest" and has called for the Office of Congressional Ethics to investigate. We have a MoveOn petition and I have a Huffington Post piece up in support of Public Citizen's demand:
