CONTRACTS from the United States Department of Defense
Unit-SKW L.L.C., Anchorage, Alaska, was awarded on March 18, 2005, a $24,610,440 increment as part of a $37,575,799 firm-fixed-price contract for Construction of a Missile Defense Facility. Work will be performed at Fort Greely, Alaska, and is expected to be completed by Jan. 31, 2007. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were an unknown number of bids solicited via the World Wide Web on Nov. 1, 2004, and two bids were received. The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, Ala., is the contracting activity (W912DY-05-C-0006).
Science Application International Corp., is being awarded a $20,000,000 indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract. The primary objective of this contract is to provide highly specialized intelligence analysis required by the National Air and Space Intelligence Center to analyze and evaluate worldwide foreign developments on future systems, subsystems, technologies, and operational concepts related to the U.S. Ballistic Missile Defense program, the Joint Theater Air and Missile Defense Program, and other new initiatives as they develop. The Air Force can issue delivery orders totaling up to the maximum amount indicated above, although actual requirements may necessitate less than the amount above. At this time, $100,000 of the funds has been obligated. This work will be complete by September 2010. Solicitation began December 2004. The Headquarters Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (FA8633-05-D-2050).
Lockheed Martin Corp., Sunnyvale, Calif., is being awarded a $12,124,002 cost-plus award-fee contract modification to the existing Space Base Infrared System (SBIRS) High Component Engineering, Manufacturing, and Development contract. This contract action primarily provides operational and maintenance support for the Space Based Infrared Systems Increment 1 system that is not currently included in Contractor Logistics Support Contract Line Item Number of the contract. This contract action will also provide two modifications to the operational system, an engineering study evaluating the supportability of the SBIRS Increment 1 system, and software and hardware support to SBIRS legacy systems. This contract action supports the SBIRS System Support Manager in SMC/ISO located at Peterson Air Force Base. The locations of performances are Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems and Solutions, Boulder, Colo., and Northrop Grumman Systems Corp., Boulder, Colo. At this time, $8,107,337 of the funds has been obligated. This work will be complete by June 2010. The Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles Air Force Base, El Segundo, Calif., is the contracting activity (F04701-95-C-0017, P00309).
