oversættelse af Bibelen fra originalsprogene. Han var den
første til at opdele teksten i kapitler og vers. Lige siden
har hans opdeling i Det Gamle Testamente bliver standard. Det Nye
Testamente blev ændret af den franske videnskabsmand Robert
Estienne i sin udgave af den græske tekst i 1551. Pagnini
opdeling respekterer ikke altid den logiske udvikling af teksterne,
men viste sig at være meget nyttige til at identificere
præcist og rammende de bibelske passager.'
