Security for a New Century 109th Congress
Report from Tehran: Iran's Strategy to Isolate the U.S.
When: Tuesday, March 22nd at 10:30 a.m.
Where: Longworth 1116
George Perkovich a nuclear non-proliferation specialist with
the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, was one of a
handful of Americans in Tehran March 5-9 to meet with high-level
Iranian officials and scholars to discuss Iran's nuclear ambitions
and the challenge they pose to international nonproliferation
regime and U.S. interests. Mr. Perkovich will lead a discussion and
address Iran's new diplomatic offensive to isolate the U.S., as
well as how Iranians see the nuclear issue. He will also suggest
policy innovations the U.S. should consider to mobilize
international support to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapon
capabilities.
Most time will be left for discussion.
"Security for a New Century" is a bipartisan study group for
Congress. We meet regularly with US and international policy
professionals to discuss changes in the post Cold War and post 9/11
security environment. All sessions are facilitated and not for

Army Reserve Components Boost Enlistment Age Limit

WASHINGTON, March 22, 2005 - The Army Reserve and the Army National
Guard have raised the age limit for recruits from 34 to 39, Defense
Department officials said.
The move will add 22.6 million people to those who could
potentially enlist in the reserve components, said Pentagon
spokeswoman Air Force Lt. Col. Ellen Krenke.
