CONTRACTS from the United States Department of Defense
IBM Corp. is being awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite
quantity (ID/IQ) contract. This award is made on the behalf of
Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization. The
contract has a 5 base year + 5 option years cycle with a ceiling
price of $370 million. This acquisition will provide IT support
services for the Defense Commissary Agency Commercial Advanced
Resale Transaction System to support worldwide operations for
nearly 275 stores and replace the existing point-of-sales system.
The requirement was solicited on a full and open competition basis.
Four proposals were received. The Defense Information Technology
Contracting Organization - Scott Air Force Base, Ill. is the
contracting activity (HC1013-06-D-2005).
General Dynamics, Electric Boat Corp., Groton, Conn. is being
awarded a $13,893,625 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for the services
required to staff and operate the Nuclear Regional Maintenance
Department (NRMD) at SUBASE, New London. The Nuclear Regional
Maintenance Department is responsible for project management,
engineering and planning, training, inspection and nuclear services
to accomplish intermediate-level nuclear submarine maintenance,
modernization and repairs in support of operational nuclear
submarines including maintaining and modernizing facilities and
equipment and providing off-hull support of submarine maintenance.
Work will be performed in New London, Conn., and is expected to be
completed by September 2006. Contract funds will expire at the end
of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively
procured. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C. is the
contracting activity.
