Two Plowshares activists, Barb Katt and John LaForge,
damaged a guidance system for a Trident submarine with hammers at a
Sperry plant in Minnesota. In sentencing them to six months’
probation, U.S. District Judge Miles W. Lord commented, "Why do we
condemn and hang individual killers, while extolling the virtues of
