Over 1000 Quakers surrounded the Pentagon for a silent vigil to
commemorate the 300th anniversary of the first Quaker Peace
Testimony issued to King Charles II in 1660.
From the 1660 Peace Testimony: "We utterly deny all outward wars
and strife and fightings with outward weapons, for any end or under
any pretence whatsoever. And this is our testimony to the whole
world...."
