Operation Rügens masseødelæggelse
Tyske krigsfly fra Luftwaffes Condor Legion ødelægger største-delen af den spanske (baskiske) by Guernica under det, der be-tegnes som det første luftbombardement af en ubeskyttet by i historien. Mere end 1.600 civile bliver dræbt.

Operation Rügen's Mass Destruction
German warplanes from the Luftwaffe's Condor Legion destroys most of the Spanish (Basque) town of Guernica during what is described as the first air bombardment of an undefended town in history. More than 1,600 civilians are killed.
