On Sunday, June 7, 1846, the noted minister, Theodore Park,
preached "A Sermon of War in Boston; referring to the heads of the
government, he said "The political authors of a war on this
continent, and at this day are either utterly incapable of a
stateman's work, or else guilt of that sin. Fools they are, or
traitors they must be."
