Civil Liberties Bureau

Borgerrettighedskontoret. Amerikansk borgerrettighedsorganisation også kaldet the National Civil Liberties Bureau oprettet under første verdenskrig, 1. oktober 1917, gennem et samarbejde mellem Det amerikanske forsoningsforbund og the American Union Against Militarism. Begge organisationer var imod USAs deltagelse i verdenskrigen. Blandt de aktive i organisationen kan nævnes: Roger Nash Baldwin, Crystal Eastman, Norman Thomas, Albert DeSilver og Clarence Darrow. Navneskifte i 1920 til the American Civil Liberties Union.
American Civil Liberties Union also called the National Civil Liberties Bureau created during World War I on October 1, 1917, through a collaboration between the American Fellowship of Reconciliation and the American Union Against Militarism. Both organizations opposed U.S. involvement in the war. Among those active in the organization include: Roger Nash Baldwin, Crystal Eastman, Norman Thomas, Albert DeSilver and Clarence Darrow. Name Change in 1920 to the American Civil Liberties Union.
